Cinéma en Développement will take place at the professional platform of the Cinélatino 33rd Rencontres de Toulouse (March 19 – 28, 2021). This alliance aims to provide continuity in Europe to the guidance and support dynamics initiated in Latin America, thus offering an opportunity for one of the participating projects to benefit from a personalized program that includes a presentation of the project on one-to-one meetings of Cinéma en Développement with renowned industry professionals, case studies, and Cinéma en Construction screenings. Since then, the projects Paterno (2013), A Morte Habita à Noite (2014), O Filho Plantado (2015), Sábado Morto (2016), Criadas (2017), Todos os Demônios Estão Mortos (2018) have been selected to participate in the program. Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse and BrLab, since 2013, have joined forces to extend to Toulouse the support offered to Brazilian producers and directors, through a jointly selected project. The goal of this platform is to promote an interchange between professionals in search of talents and projects, and directors and producers who are developing their films and wish to strengthen their network. The workshop has an important history of successful films released in Brazil and abroad and has consolidated itself in recent years as an international reference in the film industry. Currently, it is the only market event in Brazil that receives projects from all over Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula (and Italy).ĭuring the laboratory, film producers, directors and screenwriters representing the twelve selected projects receive comprehensive advice on fundamental pillars of development for their products: screenwriting, direction, production and distribution.
